What are We Doing to Keep You Safe During Your Toby’s Resort Vacation?

As we welcome you back to Toby’s Resort we want to ensure your safety while traveling. When preparing for your travels to Jamaica please visit Travel Jamaica Travel Authorization page. As we opened back up in July we ensured that Toby’s Resort has been TPDCo. COVID-19 certified by the Jamaican Tourism Product and Development Co (TPDCo).

What does TPDCo Covid Certified mean?

Being TPDCo COVID certified means that we have met all the requirement laid out by the Jamaican Ministry of Health for the protection of our guests and staff to ensure that you have the best experience in Jamaica.

What Measure has Toby’s Taken to Ensure Your Safety?

To ensure your safety, we have placed signs with reminders of mask wearing, physical distancing, mandatory temperature checking and hand sanitation requirements. Toby’s has also installed hand sanitizer units around the property and the restaurant and pool areas have been adjusted to accommodate social and physical distancing protocols.

What about the Toby’s staff?

The Toby’s Resort staff are required to wear a mask and sanitize their hands frequently to ensure your safety and ours.

How are our rooms and public spaces being maintained and cleaned for your arrival?

To maintain COVID safety health standards, our fantastic team of house keepers are extra vigilante with cleaning and sanitation off all surfaces as each room is thoroughly sanitized every day. After the departure of each guest, rooms are fully disinfected, the air conditioning unit filters are carefully cleaned and the room is given a 3 day break before the arrival of the next guest.

If you have any more questions do not hesitate to contact us through our contact form.

We hope to see you soon.

Toby’s Resort Live Jazz Night Feat. Joseph Leighton and David Lyttle on Feb 9th, 2020

At 7pm on February 9th, 2020 guitarist Joseph Leighton and his mentor, David Lyttle, will be performing at Toby’s Resort. Guitarist Joseph Leighton has been hailed as one of Ireland’s brightest new jazz talents. Now 22 years old, he and David have played over 60 dates in the Middle East, South East Asia, Ireland and are now bringing their performance to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Joseph Leighton comes to Jamaica to trace his paternal Jamaican roots but as a teenager in Derry, Ireland he was initially a teenage rock prodigy. His interest in jazz was sparked after a meeting with David Lyttle, a MOBO nominated drummer. Following awards from Moving On Music and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, he has been under the tutelage of guitar icons such as Jesse van Ruller, Mike Walker and Peter Bernstein. In 2016, Joseph travelled to Canada to attend the Banff Centre’s Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music and was under the direction of Vijay Iyer.

The person who inspired Joseph down this jazz guitar path, David Lyttle, has been both a mentor and international tour partner. In the past year, in addition to his touring with Joseph, he has performed in China, North America, Holland, Spain, the Middle East, SE Asia and Switzerland. David is a MOBO Award nominated drummer and has been described by the Independent as ‘representing the best in jazz coming out of Ireland’. David being a prominent jazz drummer has collaborated with a long list of jazz visionaries from Kurt Rosenwinkel to Joe Lovano. In 2017 David brought the wonderful music of jazz to new audiences in the United States in his coast-to-coast residency performing for cowboys, bikers and UFO tourists, and more recently on his extensive Irish tour of small towns, villages and islands.

Admission: $1000JA with a complementary drink.

On her trip to Jamaica, Alice has spent time at the local SOS Children’s Village in Barett Town, St. James and performed at a charity concert to raise further funds towards the charity. Stay tuned to see more updates from Alice! On her Instagram and Miss Global International Instagram.
